Kia ora, I’m Shauna.
I was born and raised in Hamilton but have spent the last 4 years in Auckland studying at the Auckland
University of Technology where I began my journey in becoming a physiotherapist.
I was inspired to become a physiotherapist at the age of 9 when I suffered a neck injury in gymnastics.
Throughout the rest of my life and my involvement in various sports, I continued to see physiotherapists
for any ‘niggles’ or injuries and would go on to ask them what they loved about their job which only
inspired me further.
Having graduated in 2023, I am still very early in my physiotherapy career but have a personal interest in
musculoskeletal physiotherapy through a sports lens, with a focus on injury prevention and the
rehabilitation of sports-related injuries through a combination of manual therapy and exercise-based
rehabilitation. Ultimately, my main role is to help you identify your goals and support you in achieving
those goals so we can get you back to doing the things that you enjoy being able to do in life.
Outside of work, I am no longer a gymnast but have since transferred my gymnastic skills into CrossFit
which is one of my biggest passions. If I’m not here at one of our Lifestyle Physiotherapy clinics then I will
most definitely be at CrossFit 3216.
