ABOUT TERESA
My name is Teresa Te Tamaki, and after starting as an employee with Lifestyle Physiotherapy in 2007, I took over the business in 2015. I am passionate about helping people, providing an excellent level of service to patients, and providing opportunities for Physios to grow and develop. We have a great team environment at Lifestyle Physiotherapy and I love the variety of work opportunities and flexibility we can offer. It really is an awesome place to work and we really value our clients.
I was always involved in sports at school and wanted to continue that involvement in some way, and I have always had a drive to help people, so physiotherapy was the right fit. I studied at AUT and worked in Auckland after graduating, before moving to Hamilton. I continued my study in Māori Health and completed a Clinical Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2012. I also have a Post Graduate Certificate in Western Acupuncture.
Since I began playing rugby at university, it has been a huge part of my life. I have represented New Zealand in both 7s and 15s and finished playing in 2016 to focus on my career in sports physiotherapy. I have had the opportunity to work with the New Zealand Black Ferns, and I am currently a physiotherapist at Mitre10 Cup and Super Rugby level. I continue to be involved in women’s rugby through coaching the Waikato Women's 7s team.
Outside of work and rugby, I like to stay fit and active to be able to keep up with my energetic toddler!
