ABOUT GEORGIA

My name is Georgia, and I joined the team at Lifestyle Physiotherapy in 2021 after graduating from AUT. Prior to earning my degree in Physiotherapy, I graduated with a degree in Exercise Science whilst playing basketball in America – needless to say I am very passionate about sport and living a healthy lifestyle.

I have played various sports throughout my life (netball, touch, swimming) and went on to play basketball for the Tall Ferns and represented my country in 3x3 basketball at the World Cup. Throughout my sporting career, I experienced many injuries that ultimately shaped my decision to becoming a physiotherapist myself. With each setback, I was able to return to doing something that I loved. I was lucky enough to experience the benefits of physiotherapy from a young age, and I hope to pass my knowledge on to help others like I once was helped.

Aside from having my own injuries, I was drawn to physiotherapy because of the practical work it offers and the opportunities to work with a wide range of ages and people.

As a clinician, I combine exercise-based rehabilitation with manual therapy in order to get the best possible results for my patients. I have a strong passion for returning athletes to sport and building resilience with movement patterns that are applicable to their sport.
